I am a 23 year old from Alabama, living in Nashville, Tennessee. Yeah, I know you're thinking about banjo picking, toilet bowl flower pots and cotton fields. Though I do not own a toilet bowl flower pot, nor do I live near a cotton field, I am proud to say that yes, i DO own a banjo, as well as a guitar, a tenor guitar, a mandolin, and an organ. And I'm happy about it. I just recently graduated from nursing school at the University of North Alabama, and am working as an RN at St. Thomas Hospital on the Joint Replacement floor. This takes up most of my time, unfortunately, but whenever I'm not studying, I'm playing/writing music, sewing or doing art, or hiking and mountain biking with my dog Naima! I have a great life. End of story.

Yesterday was so much fun!!
Other than driving for an hour through snow and ice, witnessing 3 wrecks, and finally arriving at my clinical for nursing school just to be turned away and sent back into the storm, yesterday was a blast! I haven’t had a “Snow Day” in a long time!
I’m pretty sure this is the most snow Alabama has gotten in a loooong time… around 3 inches!! Dillon, Chloe and I built a snowman that was TALLER THAN ME!! I mean- this is a lot for Alabama!!
We drank yummy hot chocolate, and walked to downtown Florence with Jess to our favorite little coffee shop and lunch spot called Rivertown; sooo fun!
When the snow started to melt, and the ground got all soggy and gross, we made it a movie afternoon, all cozy in our living room. I’m really going to miss my roomates and the comfort of college life.
I am so ready to graduate and get going with my real life as a nurse; but the thought of actually being there terrifies me. Are tests and quizzes and tons of paperwork every day really that bad? I think I’m finally seeing that college is quite the pillow… it is still a sugar coated version of my future.
Either way, the snow yesterday was a fun way to revert back to a childhood like state; being completely captivated by the huge snowflakes, making snow angels, and feeling like I was in a completely different world.

i should have gone into meteorology; however, nursing was on the top of Forbes’ list for recessional proof jobs.

christmas came and was gone so fast this year! i can’t believe it is already over… now is the depressing time of year to me. only 362 days left until christmas! i am currently filling in at my mom’s office in Huntsville, being a secretary.
i now remember why i decided a desk job is not for me.
